Debates on current subjects Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. VII The state of BF and BOF slags utilisation is analysed. Some solutions are presented to increase the utilization rate of slags.
Key words: gas emissions with green house effect Rizescu Corneliu: Greenhouse gas emission determination proceedings. Debates on current subjects Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. XI The Kyoto protocol has decided to limit the release of greenhouse gases that are thought to contribute to climate changes. In consequence, determination of greenhouse gas emission has to be done based on international accepted proceeding.Two of such proceedings exists today. One was proposed by IISI and other was adopted by CE Communities. There are no major differences between them.The carbon balance is the base for CO2 calculation in both proceedings. The main steps of working with one of the mentioned proceedings are presented here.

D.C.: 621.746.628 Ciobanu Ioan, Crişan Aurel, Munteanu Sorin Ion: The solidification analysis for castings of wheel type using real solidification modules. Part I Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. 8 In the paper there is presented a study regarding the real solidification modules application in the view of solidification analysis of wheel type castings. There are presented the results of computing the partial solidification modules for the wheel components and dead heads used in seven variants. It is highlighted that the analysis of wheels solidification using ideal solidification modules (geometrical) lead to errors. There are evidenced some situations when the shrinkage elimination from the wheel hub is possible only using thermo-insulated dead heads.
D.C.: 621.747; 669.2/71 VARGA Bela: Processing control for parts cast in aluminium by compactness analysis Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. 16 The paper analyses the interdependence between castings compactness and processing technologies by melting and casting. To enhance the castings quality in the |
direction of shrinkage reduction requires, in the first step, to track down the causes. The mode to track down the causes (the melting technology or the casting one) responding for insufficient compactness of parts die cast, in the case of the armatures of electric motors, is exemplified by simple measures.
D.C.: 669.5 Key words: hot dipped galvanized wire, steel wire covered with Zn-Al alloy, drawing, corrosion, anticorrosive resistance Tintelecan Marius: The comparison of anticorrosive resistance for steel wire covered by Zn and covered by Zn-Al alloy Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. 21 The paper evaluates (by comparison) the degree of corrosion resistance of the steel wire covered by one of the following two protective variants: - variant 1: covering with pure Zn by „Hot Dip” procedure; - variant 2: covering with Zn-Al alloy (of eutectic point chemical composition from Zn-Al equilibrium diagram). I wish to underline that for the making of the comparison were used: 1 – the same steel mark for both mentioned variants; 2 – steel wire with the same initial diameter for both protective variants.
D.C.: 669.295 Key words: titanium, joining methods, laser welding, plasma welding, infrared soldering Deac Valeriu, Deac Cristian: Studies regarding some procedures for the joining of small-size parts made of Titanium or of Titanium-based alloys Metalurgia (58) 2006, nr. 4, p. 25 The processing and joining of parts made of titanium or titanium-based alloys impose taking some special technological measures, due to the problems it raises: a large difference between the melting point of titanium and that of the possible auxiliary materials, great affinity of titanium for oxygen and other gases from the atmosphere etc. This article comprises an overview of the main procedures for the non-disassemblable joining of parts made of titanium or titanium alloys, especially for applications in dental technics – laser welding, plasma welding and infrared soldering, also realising a qiualitative comparison of these procedures.
